Let's start off on something good by getting to know each other. You can call me Ron if we get the chance to become friends either online or in person. As you may have read on my bio, I have different interests. Food, animals and creativity. For my foodie side I like to call myself as "The Fatman Cooks". I am just a normal, sometimes boring, person who likes to to eat and cook. I also like staying in almost 70% of the time...very cliche right? I really don't mind if some people would think that way. Food has a special place in our family since we were young. We always make sure there is food on the table for special occasions and big moments in life. Simple or feast, as long as we are eating together that is happiness for us. That is also the reason why I learned how to cook over the years. I do not have any actual kitchen training. My first teacher in the kitchen is my mom. Back then I actually thought I'd study something about food but I went down another path. When I finished my college degree in Mass Communications, I got a job at a major TV network which eventually brought me back to the "kitchen". Over the years our team produced modern cooking shows that highlighted chefs and their skills. I guess years of being exposed to the great masters and chefs really helped me to be comfortable in the kitchen. Of course as life would have it, not everything is dusted with sugar. Like any person, I would feel down because of things I can't really control. Aside from the normal stuff I do to keep up with stress and anxiety, I also cook to getaway from reality for a bit. Most of the dishes that you will find here are the ones I created whenever I'm in a mood-either good or not-so-good. Don't worry, almost all of the recipes I make are products of a good or hopeful mood. That is why even if I become busy or tired, I always try to whip something up in the kitchen. The good side to this is the fact that all the people in our household get to taste my version of a classic dish or if they're lucky, an original. I came up with this idea of blogging what I cook just a few months back, around March 2020. I think that was 2 weeks before our country locked down because of COVID19. A friend of mine asked for the recipe of a food shot that I just posted. (I'll post it soon don't worry. It's my version of a spring roll with vermicelli.) Then a few other friends asked me the same thing. So I said to myself why not make a blog...I can share it online so even if I am just a tiny (how ironic seeing my size) food hobbyist I can help people in my own little way. I also answered myself, OK let's do it! So just like how they say in cooking shows "here it is...The Fatman Cooks Recipes!"! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Please continue to follow my posts/page to see how this fat man cooks his food. I hope you enjoy my future posts and please try the recipes that I will be sharing for your family and friends. Trust me they are very easy to make. More good news on my next posts. Yes, you're right! It will be about my furbabies and me trying to be creative. Stay happy and keep doing good for others, you'll never know when someone really need it. ;-)
