Since elementary, it has always been my dream to help people out even with the little things I have. My partner and I are managing a small millktea business located along Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong City. We don’t really generate that much income as the other big milktea businesses since it’s a newly established one. All of us never thought that a COVID pandemic would change the way we live; it stopped our economy, it stopped our daily routines, it stopped almost everything. But, it has always been my principle to be of help to others especially that we are in a pandemic period. One day, I have realized how our frontliners - nurses, Doctors, Police officials, soldiers, etc. - risk their lives just to help people and make everything organized. In partnership with my business, I have done a mini benefit concert in a livestreaming app - Kumu -where you can earn money through the diamonds your gaining from the viewers. That day, I have earned approximately 20k pesos in 3 hours. Despite having so many challenges during the concert, it still went well. Never have I expected I would earn such amount in 3 hours. I was really thankful because ALL proceeds (20k) were used to benefit our frontliners. We gave them free milkteas! You don’t have to be rich for you to be able to help others. A simple help, whether it’s cash, memories, words, etc., would really matter to everyone. I hope that everyone, specially at a young age, would know the value of giving. I also hope that you’ll be inspired by this simple act. God bless everyone!
