"What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, and more unashamed conversation." - Glenn Close I grew up in a culture where depression, anxiety and other mental illness doesn't exist. I believe that we should openly talk about it without judgement. In this time of global health pandemic many of us are far away from one another and social distancing is the new normal. We are isolated and lonely but I know how painful it is to suffer in silence. It's like being torn into pieces by your own thoughts. I want everyone to know that it's okay to reach out to family and friends. It's normal to talk about depression and anxiety, it's okay to seek help to a psychiatrist and it does not make you crazy because mental health is as important as our physical health. To anyone suffering out there, you are not alone and as cliche as it sounds sometimes it's okay not to be okay but what's important is you rise up and fight your own battles.
