"IF THE WORLD HATES YOU, KEEP IN MIND THAT IT HATED ME FIRST" - JOHN 15:18 When I was in grade 5, a close friend and I would copy answer from each other during quizzes. Cheating was like a norm in our section, and no seemed to care if it's right or wrong. Thank God for conscience, I eventually mustered the courage to tell my friend and our other classmates not to cheat anymore. From then on, I never let anyone look at my answer sheet. My friend got mad at me and didn't talk to me anymore. It hurts losing a friend, but I knew it would hurt more if I tolerated this bad habit. I believe this what Jesus meant when He said the verse above. When we try to do what is right, we will displease some people. We might get mocked or rejected, or even lose some friends. But the goodness always wins in the end, just as Jesus succeeded in glory when He followed His Father's will despite the persecutions. Thankfully, my friend spoke to me again before the school year ended. She realized her mistake and we became close again. God is really good. -Krizelle R. Talladen Reflect: Are you brave enough to follow Jesus even it means being hated? Dear Jesus, remind me to always do what is right. May I be a good example to others despite life's trials.
