Why Should We Pray

Prayer is a conversation with God about the things on your heart, on your mind or moving in your spirit. Prayer is one of God's vital means of transforming us into Christlikeness in every aspect of our lives (2 Cor. 3:18). Beloved, the ultimate purpose of prayer is not to simply change your situations, but primarily to increasingly change you into who God intended you to be (Christ-like). God, through prayer, opens eyes, changes hearts, heals wounds, and grants wisdom (James 1:5). We turn to prayer because it is the most personal way to experience God, to encounter Him and to grow in knowledge of Him. ... According to the book of Ephesians, God's desire is for us to pray “on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests”
The power of prayer should never be underestimated because it draws on the glory and might of the infinitely powerful God of the universe! Daniel 4:35 proclaims, “All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing.
Prayer is a mighty weapon at the disposal of every man or woman who loves God, and knows His son Jesus Christ. ... Prayer also energizes the heart of a believer through the power of the Spirit. Consistent prayer also releases the power of God's blessing on your life and circumstances.
