•Make vs. Do
Make - creation of physical object, action/reaction, sound, or food.
Ex. My dad likes to make food.
Do - jobs or activities with "anything" or "something" also indicates generic action.
Ex. I need to do housework.
•Refuse vs. Deny
Refuse - to decline; to accept/give unwillingness.
Ex. I refuse to argue.
Deny - declaring untruth, disagreement to withhold or disown something.
Ex. Most deny that the sky is orange.
•Say vs. Tell
Say - a verb usually used without an object.
Ex. She knew what to say to her sister.
Tell - informs or instructs.
Ex. Tell your sister to fix her hair.
•Stay vs. Remain
Stay - stay is an informal verb.
Ex. Don't stay out late.
Remain - remain is used more in formal sense.
Ex. Though the team lost, the fans remain loyal.
•Sit vs. Seat
Sit - is a verb

Seat - is a verb and noun.
