JUST IN: With the Domekano author backlash still in recent memory, now the author of "Hataraku Maou-sama!" is on the receiving end of negative reactions for the way he ended his story. Potential spoilers below so tread carefully.

The series also known as "The Devil Is a Part-Timer!" released its final volume (21) on August 7, 2020 and concluded the story after about 9 and a half years (first released in February 2011). 

Some fans were so unhappy with the MC's choice of girl that they wished all kinds of terrible things upon the author in replies to his tweets.

While we understand criticism and disappointment in something we've followed for years, fans should never go so far as to send ill-willed messages to the creators. Say that you think the work is thrash or whatever word you want to use, give your opinion, but don't go so far as to wish death upon the ones behind the work. After all, they have every right to do what they want with their own fictional stories.

Additionally, it's worth noting that the vast majority of the harmful comments came from overseas.
