American music superstar Taylor Swift on Thursday (Manila time) announced her 8th studio album, “Folklore,” just hours before its release. Swift unveiled the album on Twitter, saying she has “poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings” into the 16-track record. She said the album will be released midnight, Eastern time, or noon on Friday in Manila. “Folklore’s” deluxe edition is available on CD and vinyl, and will include a bonus track, titled “The Lakes,” according to Swift. The tracks include “Cardigan,” its lead single with a music video releasing the same time as the album, and “Exile,” a collaboration with Bon Iver. “Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed,” Swift said, referring to the coronavirus pandemic. Swift, whose last album “Lover” was released in 2019, noted that she wrote and recorded “Folklore” in isolation. Its first music video for “Cardigan,” she added, was filmed with strict safety protocols. “My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with.”
