He was penniless but he’s now sitting on an exclusive chair.

When you look into his keen and brown eyes, it’s like looking on a sunrise. The sun may not be seen in the dark but it still waits for its time to rise and shine. His smile is like two valleys, collided at each other its way too big but it has plenty of stories. The way he moves, the way he talk, the way he respect people. He’s like pushing a stone-like and huge cart carrying all his problems. His golden heart that is so rich in kindness, generosity, and respect. Helping the needy is his goal. No wonder he is it now, because he was that then.

A ten year old kid, pushing an unpleasant trolley that is full of plastic bottles. Selling it in a junkyard not for buying his wants, but for buying his needs and needs of his family. A teenager who is supposed to be clean and tidy, but he was different. He’s teenage life is mostly spent in a garbage pit looking for some thrown away foods, so that his mother can cook it for their dinner. Not until that day came into his life, he escaped the cage of poverty, he finally saw the real world, he was respected and idolize. Because he was discovered and became an actor not just because of his look but also because of his golden heart.

But he realized that acting is not supposed to be his goal, he wants to help the needy, the hungry people. So he started to be a politician. He was first elected and sworn for Manila’s first congressional district back in 1998, reelected in year 2001 works with all of his heart and passion, and still won the election in year 2004. And in year 2007 he became the vice-mayor of Manila. However, he realized that he has not yet truly escaped his past. He was being gossip, he was judge and being laugh, because he was only a high school graduate councilor.

He made those judgment into a massive and scorching will, dedication and passion. So he temporarily left the politics and school himself. He took the crash course in Local Legislation and Local Finance at the University of the Philippines. He then studied Public Administration at the University of the City of Manila. But his passion doesn’t want to stop. He still studied at the two prestigious school in the world. Harvard University in USA and Oxford University at London.

He believes that thru education, poverty can be surpassed. He studied for many years, thru hard work, and dedication to help the unprivileged people. Until his hard work grew into a big tree bearing many beautiful and lovely flowers.

He then turned his back again in politics. Winning thru massive number of people who believes in him. The young man who faced his problems, the young man who has never raised his white flag to surrender. Nevertheless recently he won the 2019 election as a Mayor of Manila. He really made a huge change by just sitting in two months as a Mayor.

The young man also known as the “Kalakal Boy” back then, is now the Mayor of the City where he suffered.  The young man who inspires people, and help people is…. Mayor Francisco Moreno Domogoso, commonly known as Isko Moreno.
