Starting an IG Pre-Loved Clothing Shop

In the Philippines, I think it's pretty common for people to be resilient with every situation through doing everything they can - most especially now that a global pandemic occurred.

Flashback to my "normal" life: I didn't feel the need to work in order to earn money. I figured I just have to study, graduate and then get a job to repay my parents, but ever since this situation came to us - everything started to crumble down at some point. My parents were struggling every single day to provide food on our table everyday and that's when I knew I had to do something.

I started to rummage through my closet - trying to find the clothes that I never get to wear, didn't fit me anymore or clothes that I barely used. At first, I was reluctant to market my clothes - and growing up, even though I am a confident person with regards to academics, there's a side of me that's really shy. Selling my clothes felt a bit like I was practically begging people to buy. But, a little bit of an advice, you'll never see the end of something if you don't even try to start. And so, I did!

I launched my IG account last week with the username @aceillm.shop. I was pretty nervous so my promotion was - what? It can't even be considered bare minimum! But with my supportive friends, I manage to gain pace with my followers - and then came my friend from the same course, she offered me a partnership. And to be honest? Having someone with you in a business is good! You start to gain more confidence especially if the other person's responsible and hardworking, too!

After a week-long planning on how to promote and market our clothes in an "aesthetically-pleasing" way, we posted our first batch of clothes last Friday, July 26, 2020! The responses were great and there have been people who bought our clothes.

Starting something can be really scary at first, I understand that. The risk of getting ignored nowadays is high most especially because everyone's trying to earn money but if you set your goals and just push through it? You'll get it!
