SCRATCH BROWNIES

SCRATCH BROWNIES

I know it’s easy to just open a brownie mix and add some oil and eggs, but I promise this isn’t too much more work. Once you’ve tried this scratch version, you’ll look at those mixes a little differently. This recipe has spoiled my family. They won’t even allow me to buy the box mixes anymore.

¾ cup (1 ½ sticks) butter, melted

1 ½ cups sugar

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 325°. Grease an 8 × 8-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl combine the butter, sugar, salt, and cocoa powder. Add the vanilla and eggs, and mix well. Stir in the flour, and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter into the baking dish, and bake 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
