“We are ready to supply vaccines to the Philippines,” Khovaev said in a virtual news conference.

According to a Reuters report, Russia is awaiting regulatory approval for their COVID-19 vaccine this month.

Amid concerns regarding their vaccine, Khovaev said it is “effective and safe,” adding that 20 countries have already expressed interest to help develop it.

However, World Health Organization emergencies director Michael Ryan said test data is needed to ensure any vaccines are safe and effective.
