Optimistic October #1: Get lost in a book

For bookworms, you may already know what "get lost in a book" means but for the rest , what does it really mean.

Getting lost in a book is when you get too engaged on what you are reading that each turn of page sucks you in deeper, that you almost forgot how much time flew. That you feel the power of each word you read as it warps you in different dimensions of space and time.

There are a lot of positive effects when you get yourself lost in a book.

Reading a book expands our knowledge and understanding on a lot of things, issues, experiences and events. It can take you to different places and lets you feel a bit of the writer's experience. You may find yourself smiling, crying, agrees and disagrees on what you read. These gives us the sense of belongingness and would help us to better connect and interact with others.

Reading also allows us to do some kind of self check. We would realize what kind of person we have become, whether we made good decisions and most importantly what habits and thoughts we need to eliminate and what we need to have.

Reading also serves as good exercise for our brains. It keeps our brain active and lets us learn. So each day you you read you become smarter.

Reading can serve as a stress reliever. Since reading a book, opens portals to different worlds, it can provide an escape, a good one on that note. When ignoring our problems by trying to do other things isn't the solution, thinking much of it isn't good too. Which temporary diversion can be really helpful to get yourself together, recharge and get back into the battlefield.

Getting lost in a book is not really getting lost at all. It's when you take a good time for yourself to discover the world.
