National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) successfully launched its most advanced Mars rover from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on Thursday, paving the way for human exploration beyond the Moon.

Mars 2020 Perseverance rover is now on its journey to Mars with a helicopter named Ingenuity, the first aircraft to fly in a controlled way on another planet, in a mission to search for signs of life in the Martian atmosphere. 

The rover will take about seven months to travel to the Red Planet and is expected to land in Mars' Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021.
