"The only way to do great work is to love what you do." This saying is what I kept on believing in every work I have. My first job was being a private tutor to young kids. I was 20 years old when I decided to look for part-time job to support my expenses in school. I have to pay for books, photocopies, projects, and thesis. I was so nervous when applying because I don't know if I am qualified to teach those kids, but since I believed that I do well in school, maybe there is a little chance that I will be hired. I submitted resume to the tutorial center. In the interview, I was asked if I can handle kids and if I have lots of patience because being a tutor is a tough job. Since I need the job, I just answered "yes" even if I am not sure of it. And luckily, I was hired. I am so proud of myself. I have my first job. I am a TUTOR. The moment of truth came, my first day on the job. I was so nervous that I will not be able to handle the kids well. But what a great surprise, the kids were kind and cooperative. And by the time that the kids called me Teacher, wow, it was a great feeling. I was overwhelmed. It was a good feeling. I didn't just got a job, but I also gained friends. I became friends with my co-Tutor, with the kids, and even with the parents of the kids. I am enjoying my job even if the pay was not that high because it was Php45/hr. But I am contented with what I am doing and with what I am receiving. I am so happy that I experienced being a tutor once in my life. Let us love our job!
