#MYFAVORITESOCIALMEDIA

The pandemic is tough and one of the ways I escape reality is by spending most of my time on social media platforms, communicating with friends who I haven't seen in months.

My most frequently visited social media platform would be Facebook. I spend hours either watching random animal videos ( which make me squeal because of their cuteness ) or reading news articles about what is currently happening in my community and the country as a whole. But aside from that, I follow a lot of meme pages so they usually pop up on my newsfeed and they're mostly relatable and funny. When I reach a new level of boredom, I watch gaming streams just to learn a few tips and tricks about the game Mobile Legends which I've been playing for a few years now.

Another social media platform that I frequently visit is Twitter. It is very much different from Facebook because it has a different overall vibe and I like the fact that a lot of people in the said platform is mostly open-minded especially when it comes to social and political issues. I honestly learn a lot there because most people address issues in a friendly manner, explaining their side while trying to understand the other party's side. No personal attacks, just one wholesome friendly conversation. A few negative comments show up but they are outnumbered by people who actually resort to healthy conversations.

The third social media platform that I will be talking about is YouTube. For me, it's the most useful video-sharing platform and I'm glad that a lot of people are also using the said platform not just for entertainment but also for keeping themselves informed and learning new skills. During quarantine, I learned a lot of useful information on YouTube. While cleaning up, I found my mother's portable sewing machine and I had a hard time learning how to use it ( plus the fact that I have never used a sewing machine before ) so I just searched for answers on YouTube and in just a few minutes I instantly knew how it functions. I learned how to edit photos using several apps. I also learned how to edit high-quality videos with my phone using applications such as Power Director and Inshot. Anyone who wants to learn about anything can literally just search whatever they're interested in learning, may it be knowing how to cook certain recipes or as simple as knowing how to spend your quarantine time wisely.

I strongly believe that learning is a never-ending process and in such a common hobby such as visiting social media platforms, I'm glad that the time spent on it isn't that much of a waste of time.
