My Ex's best friend

I had this boyfriend, let's all him Mark. He's smart, sweet, not really funny (but he made me laugh). When we broke up, it made me devastated. I mentioned this story on "Broken. Not a Sad Story."

I'm updating you all, I AM MY EX'S BEST FRIEND. Honestly, I don't like talking to my exes after the break up, it just makes me sad. I also believe that when you stay friends with your ex, there are only two reasons.

REASONS:
1) One doesn't truly loved the other one.
2) One still loves the other one.

Mark told me that we should be friends, and I refused. Months passed, I saw his tweet saying that he should've been dead because he doesn't want to face his problems. I was alarmed and messaged him. We talked for 6 hours in the middle of the night, he opened up to me. I advised him that he should talk to his friends. He said that the only one he wants to open up to is me.

He also wants to meet after pandemic. We talked like nothing really happened, like we didn't have a romantic relationship and we didn't have a devastating break-up.

I still love him. I don't love him as a friend, I love him romantically. I chose this position in his life because this is the only way for him to stay in my life. I'll just try to forget my feelings for him.

THIS ISN'T A SAD STORY. IT'S A HAPPY STORY. WHY? This story shows that if you really love a person you are willing to be there when they are in need. Especially this pandemic, where mental health is a big problem today. Try to talk to your friends, don't push them to open up, just let them know that you are there for them, and that you love them. That's all! Stay safe everyone! #MentalHealthAwareness
