Light Dusk, an online store #MyFirstBusiness

This pandemic made me realize that I should not depend on my parents, especially financially. Thinking I was useless and a burden to my family, I cried for how many times. Other 19 years old, was having the time of their life, having their own businesses, others were working while I was here, sulking, eating and oversleeping.

One night, I had this idea about helping my mom in marketing her clothes. She has this little store in our house where you can pick preloved clothes or what we call "ukay-ukay." Also, I listed different ideas like me providing tutoring services, in-short I tried different businesses. It was one hell of a journey.

Anyway, to help my mom with her business, I made an online facebook page called Light Disk (suggested name of my little sister). I made the logo, a catchy phrase and other pubs for the page, I also took pictures of my mom's products creatively. Eventually, despite the followers of the page, it was a complete failure. I was disappointed for days.

My father suggested we sell frozen Dim sum (David's Tea House), a known brand. He said he was willing to pay for the capital and for the freezer, and I will manage the business, and I agreed. At first, we had difficulties, I had to chat people one by one to offer them our product and my mom and I was really going out there, knock on our neighbors' doors just to offer them our product, it was really tiring. Then I thought I should try to revive Light Dusk to expand our market.

BOOM! We had different customers from different subdivisions and we also had resellers from different places. It was really exciting. My father also added other products that we should offer which is frozen meat products.

Honestly, I was not contented in what we are selling because it was still my father's money. That's why I decided to use and risk my savings to sell baked goods like cookies (Chit day) and crinkles (Little Bites).

Everyone was hooked! Light Dusk is still on progress but I am still happy and thankful for everyone who supported me and our business. And I hope Light Dusk will prosper. My goal in life is to make and sell a product but I'm still undecided what product should I offer to my market. I'll just leave it for my "future me" HAHA!

Managing a business is a rollercoster, there are so many ups and down. Challenges may drag you rock bottom but let yourself learn from your failures, it will really lead you to success. I hope everyone who read this was motivated. May you all prosper!
