"You won't be able to sell any of that during quarantine. You will just waste your money! Invest on something else."


These were the phrases I received from my family when I told them I would open my own cosmetics business. Lipsticks to be specific. 

During quarantine I was able to save up money and I invested it on my business. My total capital went up to 32,000. Since 2020 started, I was really motivated to start my own business but I was hesitant and scared because of the thought that I might not even last or my products won't even sell. 

Quarantine started in March and I saw one TikTok video about a 16 year old starting her own lipgloss business - shoutout to @audacitycosmetics - and I was really motivated. I mean, a 16 year old was able to start a lipgloss business and me a 21-year-old was scared?! That was the time I contacted all manufacturers and suppliers that I have been talking to for the past months and finally decided to place my orders to start my business. 

My family saw all of my products I bought and they were very disappointed in me because I wasted my savings. It sucks that your does not support you for what you want but I least I had my friends how stuck by me and supported me until today. 

I opened my business on August 1st, 2020. 

I received 17 orders. 

AND I WAS SO HAPPY!

My family saw everything I posted on my business page and from then on they started to kind of support me. 

I was not  too consistent in posting in my business' social media pages but once I do it will attract attention for sure. 

As of now I have not received any orders yet. 

But I won't give up.

Sometimes I really feel demotivated but after watch some inspirational and motivational videos from tiktok, youtube, or anywhere. It helps a lot. 

I'll just take my time and enjoy the process.
