The picture uploaded is my picture, with my tattoo. I got it back in 2016 and I love it so much. It's not my first tattoo though, my first one was a huge mistake. That's another story to tell you if you're interested. (Comment down below, if you want me to post it). So here are the steps you should do to take care of your fresh tattoo. 1. Listen to your artist If he says that you shouldn't touch it. DON'T TOUCH IT. 2. Keep it clean and dry After the cover is removed (2 to 5 hrs after it was tattooed), clean the tattoo with an antibacterial soap in lukewarm water. Pat it with a clean towel or paper towel, not rub. When you're taking a bath if it's possible do not let it go wet. To clean it, again use antibacterial soap and lukewarm water. 3. Keep it moisturized There are lotions or creams available at the tattoo shop that you could purchase to use as an aftercare cream. I used petroleum jelly when I run out of the cream, and it also helped me when I was taking a shower. 4. Avoid Direct Sunlight Sun fades the tattoo, especially those colored tattoos. It could also cause your skin to blister. 5. Do not put Sunblock or Sunscreen. This is not an aftercare cream, so NO. 6. Wear loose-fitting clothes. Let your tattoo and skin heal and breathe, it might even irritate your skin if you wear tight clothes. 7. Do not go swimming on the beach or pool As I said, do not soak it or get it wet. You do not want to have an infection while it's healing 8. Do not scratch or itch Yeah, when they're healing they are so irritatingly itchy. But bear with it, use the cream to moisturize it. 9. Do not do any strainouos workouts I know you want to show off that incredibly painful tattoo that you just got, but you would rather show it when it's all healed up.
