Hi, I’m CJ L. Peralta an upcoming 1st year student of University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban Campus. I’ll be taking BA Social Sciences (Political Science). Before passing the UPCAT, I’m wondering back then how would I pass the entrance exam of one of the famous university from the Philippines. It is indeed my dream school. For years, I’m only imagining how it feels to step at the gate of their campus, entering the designated examination area, and hopefully passing the exam. Before you react and start thinking that you can’t do it, bare with me. Honestly, I’m not smart enough. Yes, I got high grades. BUT that’s only because I’m too friendly. I try to make friends with my teacher. You know “pabibo”. Anyways, how did a young man, who plays Mobile Legends during classes, doesn’t study at home, and spends most of the time talking to his girlfriend passed the UPCAT? I don’t know either. I didn’t review. I didn’t attend any review center. I didn’t watched any videos on Youtube on “How to pass UPCAT”. Yet I passed. I only got the chance to read lessons the night before the exams. And i only scanned few pages in front because I was lazy enough to review. I’m not kidding. When the examination came, I only brought pencils, eraser, and a sharpener. Guess what happened? After the exam, my whole body is really really REALLY drained. The tips that I’m going to give you is from my own experience only and it doesn’t really guarantee you that you’d pass because what works for me might not work for you. 1. Relax. You’re future depends on your college years but chill bro. It will help you think effectively. 2. Be prepared. When the UP asks you to bring snacks, BRING SOME SNACKS. Don’t be stupid like me. 3. Remember the basic lessons. Like I said, I didn’t review. But some of the lessons from the past school years remained. The foundation lessons helped me a lot. You don’t have to focus on the advance lessons. 4. Lastly. Pray. He helped me a lot. I lost my motivation and hope that I will pass. Especially when the results came in because I can’t access the site. But I prayed. Asked HIM if he could give me my dream school if I really deserve it. Then, the next day, I saw the CONGRATULATIONS from UP. That’s all. See you future isko/iska!
