1. TAPE THE SIDES OF YOUR PAPER. Before you start your painting, you  must tape your paper. It acts as your border and it also prevents your paper from overly moving which can cause it to tear apart.

2. SKETCH EVERYTHING. Now you want to sketch before you paint, it will act as your guide what to color over. 

3. ADD THE KOI FISHES. You want to sketch the Koi fishes because it is the highlight of your painting.

4.  ADD YOUR LILLY PADS. Also sketch your lilly pads, you can sketch them independently or you can sketch them overlapping each other. 

5.  ADD COLOR. Now the most exciting part begins. You now get to color everything. Start with your background, the lillies, the fishes, and your additives.

6. WORK WITH LAYERS. Layer everything so the painting will have more depth.
