When the community quarantine started last March 16, I  promised to keep myself updated. I was reading every breaking story I saw on my social media feed. I even preferred watching President Duterte’s press conference on TV than on Facebook just to avoid distractions from people commenting on the live stream. However, as days passed and the number of confirmed cases skyrocketed worldwide, I started feeling restless. 

What can provide us relief from anxiety and stress are good news and inspiring stories that bring us hope. Take the story of the SM Group: last March, they donated P100M worth of medical supplies to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). They’re also helping improve the availability of coronavirus testing kits. 

Another is BGComm Solutions, a BPO company that continues to provide pay benefits to its employees who couldn’t work. 

These are the kinds of good stories #GoodRap aims to share with you weekly. We'd like to make you feel more hopeful and optimistic about the world. That's why we will be highlighting the brands and corporations coming through to support our frontliners and other Filipinos in need.
