Onscreen couple Ella Cruz and Julian Trono are the latest celebrities to launch a project that aims to raise funds to support the youth and frontliners who have been deeply affected by the crisis brought about by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

On Instagram, the two shared that they coordinated with their family, friends, fellow artists, youth leaders, and local government units to start a fundraising campaign, with the goal of providing necessities
for the families of their fellow youths, procure medical supplies  for health workers, and send out food to volunteers and persons in authority who are currently deployed at various checkpoints across Metro Manila.

"We are setting our goal to provide hygiene kits and groceries for 15,000 youths and their families, [as well as] PPEs, masks, alcohols (hopefully sanitizing tents, [too]) for our frontline healthcare workers at around 15 hospitals with such needs," they said.

According to Ella and Julian, they have so far distributed more than a thousand food packs to the said families, as well as medical supplies and other necessities to health workers and other frontliners.

"With the extension of this enhanced community quarantine, we have extended [the fundraiser] 'til the 30th. We shall broaden the help and reach more people who are deeply affected by this pandemic," they said.

"We got two more weeks. All kinds of donations are welcome," they added.

The two then extended their thanks to everyone who has supported their cause.

"We're sending our profound gratitude to you. We appreciate you, and may God bless you abundantly!" they said.

On her Instagram Stories, Ella linked to a page where everyone can send in their donations.

The Philippines as of Monday afternoon, April 13, has recorded 4,932 COVID-19 cases, including 315 deaths and 242 recoveries
