DepEd Moves Opening of Classes

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Education initially proposed that the opening of classes would start on August 24, 2020, Monday. However, because of the implementation of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), President Rodrigo Duterte ordered to move the opening of classes to October 5, 2020, Monday. With this, parents are given the relief of time to prepare and focus on other things.

This movement, however, does not cover private and non-DepEd schools, so they may continue their opening on an earlier date provided that they strictly follow the given protocols.
