The Department of Education is moving the opening of classes to October 5 after President Rodrigo Duterte approved its recommendation for the delay .Lawmakers and several groups have been calling on the government to push back the school calendar, saying the schools, teachers, and learners are not ready, even for blended learning which does not require face-to-face classes. On August 10, Briones rejected fresh calls for postponement, saying it will work against students. The delay was made possible after Duterte signed a law that allows him to move the date of school opening when there's a state of emergency or calamity, amid the coronavirus pandemic. GOD BLESS YOU ALL, STAY SAFE AND STAY AT HOME!
