President Rodrigo Duterte announced on July 31, 2020 the new community quarantine classifications in the country: NCR, Bulacan, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Consolacion and Zamboanga City would be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) starting August 1, 2020. 
The rest of the country will be under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
