BEHIND EVERY SMILE: A short story

The city streets appeared loud and clattery. Everything is either in motion or making a sound. Car lights penetrate the darkness, street lamps ignite the damp sidewalk, and silver shards of moonlight reflect off black pools of water that have collected in cracks and potholes along the pavement.
A young woman walks alone through the night with her dime-store bag, hanging on her scrawny shoulders. She is surprisingly unmindful of the danger around. She seemed to walk with security, eyes locked on the path that leads to a place she always adore, and a way that makes her soul flatter and heart beat fast. She began lifting her hoodie to hide the unruly mass of her dark brown hair. She's hiding everything - her deep secrets, in her black leather hoodie and black skinny jeans. She's still wearing her black broken converse that inspires her to move forward, to keep living even if life is tough. Minutes passed and light brushed her face, arriving at a promenade where there are people wearing sweet and genuine smiles as they pass by her. As soon as she entered the chunky glass door, she unzipped her jacket and pulled off her hoodie, revealing her alluring curve and luxurious, bouncy hair. Her curves were more defined by the cause of her tight black and grey outfit. Don't mention the perfect ratio of her face and her almond shaped black eyes, long and pointed nose, small pinkish lips with her gradient tint and puffy rosy cheeks. When she enters a small coffee shop, a friend smiled and greeted her, as if they haven't seen each other for a long time. They exchanged greetings and both started working.
Nothing else matters in working in a coffee shop but to earn for a living. What's important, is to strive hard and never mind working late at night, of any trouble, or their health. As told, they smile at every customer, giving their best shots even if it already kills them inside. Pretending has been difficult, but didn't last long when they got used to it. That is why, each of them are worth respecting for and they deserve a salute.
