Hello! I use 'Jane' as my artist name 😊 And here is my story (on the art side). I am an introvert traditional artist who loves art since the day I can hold a pencil. In the first five years of my life, I was mostly left alone with my grandmother - accompanied with a coloring book, crayons and Cartoon Network shows on the television. Growing up, I was able to improve my art skills in every school art projects during elementary, but found another area of interest which is journalism. Still being artistic (in words), I really enjoyed being a journalist as I became a contributor and proofreader of our high school's journalism team - I also participated in school press conferences. But during my high school senior year, I then found myself wanting to draw again and I did, using anime characters as references. College years went by with the doubt of having time for art as I have to focus on my engineering subjects as a DOST scholar. But that doubt vanished on my third year, way back 2018. Despite all the hectic schedules and lots of paperworks, I was able to learn about portraiture, stencil art, and drawing techniques through social media art groups and pages. I made every 'break time' a time to practice different art styles which led to doing art commissions in portraiture and anime fanarts. I was still not confident, honestly, on that time. But luckily, there are people who still had faith in me, until now, and still let me draw for them. Currently, I am still learning more art styles, further enhancing my skills with more practice, and using different drawing techniques. Even with my engineering profession in the main road, surely there will always be a special sidewalk for my passion for arts. Art business is still not in the main stream in the Philippines right now, but I know it will someday. And if you know someone who offers art services, please support them. We are giving our time and effort for every artwork we make, just for you. Thank you for reading, and that is #MyFirstBusiness 😊
