Firstly, you may feel that you are depressed... for now. There is a famous line saying "It's okay not to be okay." The feelings and thoughts you are feeling now are just for now. It will not take a lifetime. Secondly, you are going to be okay... soon. You are not okay today, or maybe tomorrow, but you are going to be okay. There is no immediate cure for depression, but as slowly it will be developed too. It does take time. Thirdly, once you get through that burden, leave the past behind you and learn from it. Accept what happened. Make these burdens leave your body, mind, and heart. Fourthly, love yourself as well as your life. You are worthy. Protect your life from those feelings and thoughts again. And finally, if ever these burdens came back, remember that it is okay not to be okay again.
