For 40 days the rain poured down without stopping. And the water became deeper, until the boat started floating high above the ground. Finally, the mighty flood was so deep that even the highest mountain peaks were about seven meters below the surface of the water. – Genesis 7:17-20 I think everyone can relate to this. This passage is exactly illustrating the kind of situation we are experiencing right now. The flood is the crisis, the corona virus. The boat are the countries experiencing this pandemic. And those who are inside of it is us. We are floating along the wave of this flood. It’s higher than the mountain peaks and we can’t even see the ground below. We are uncertain on when will this flood will stop. It seems too big for us to fight and looks impossible for it to go down soon. But God gives His toughest battles to His toughest soldiers. The situation we are living today seems a hopeless case for all of us because of this uncertain feeling on when it will end. That uncertainty may drain the hope within us until we are left with nothing. But God give this battle to us, not for us to just give up. God gave this battle to us because God knows that we can overcome this through Him. God doesn’t want us to give up but instead God wants us to keep on trusting and believing in Him. Our response to this situation shouldn’t be in negative kind of way. Instead of worrying and overthinking, let us rejoice and celebrate within God’s kingdom. Everything happens for a reason. The reason may not be cleared right now for you but it doesn’t mean that’s the end for us. We may realize it late but it will never be too late for us. In this days when fear and hopelessness are in the air and it seems like those around us are living under it, we should live the otherwise. Instead of living in fear, let’s replace is with joy and replace hopelessness with prayer and faithfulness. When we are surrounded by this negative feelings and thoughts by everyone around us, don’t let it influence our way of thinking and our feelings but let us be the light who will shine upon their lives. Any obstacle is breakable. This obstacle that we are facing right now is not absolute, there’s always a way to break it and it will be God who will pave a path for us. The very best way we could do is to lift each and every one spirit. To pray for the healing of the world and make it a better place to live in. Continue seeking God’s guidance and trust in God’s promises. This obstacle have its end and it will happen in God’s perfect time. In this season of waiting, don’t lose hope and remain faithful. God loves you.
