A Word For The Soul (The Calling of Abram)

Abram was 75 years old when the Lord told him to leave the city of Haran. He obeyed and left with his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and all the possessions and slaves they had acquired while in Haran.
– Genesis 12:4-5a

Abraham is the perfect example and illustration of when God call you for it, He will equip you for it. 75 years old is quite old already in our time today and usually people around that age just stay at home for their own good and safety.

But in this passage, God said the otherwise. God called Abram regardless of his age and Abram obeyed without a doubt. God is telling us today that we all have different calling from Him but we should respond the same way Abram responds.

Sometimes we might feel like it’s been so long or it’s taking so long for God to call us for our purpose, but we don’t have to worry about that. It might come late but it doesn’t mean it will be too late for us to fulfill it. Remember, age doesn’t matter when it comes to God’s calling. We may be too young or too old when God calls us but don’t doubt, God is never too early and never too late, God is always on time just like His calling for us. When that time comes, respond in the way Abram responds.

We may see ourselves as not qualified or not worthy for that calling but keep in mind that God calls those who are weak in faith too and even those who don’t believe in Him for a great purpose. There’s no place for doubt if we begin to trust in God’s words over our circumstances.

Some of us might not be even sure with the career path we are walking to, but don’t stop, keep going and don’t worry. God got our back. Let us all to our best in everything that we do, do it not just for ourselves but most importantly for God. In anything that we do right now and in the future let’s put God first and surely, He will reward us for it.
