A Word For The Soul (Pray For The Whole World)

But when the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower, He said: These people are working together because they all speak the same language. This is just the beginning. Soon they will be able to do anything they want.
– Genesis 11:5-6

The last time I read about the Tower of Babel, I was so confuse as to why God wants to confuse the people by making them speak different languages. I thought back then that it would be nice if everyone is working together and understand each other towards one goal.

But now, I realized why God said, ‘No’ to their plans that time. I think if they continue speaking the same language and continue building that tower they will begin to stop honoring God and will start thinking highly of themselves which God doesn’t want to happen. I think, God is telling us today that He wants us to work together even if were not having the same language.

Like in this time of global crisis. The world is facing the same situation. All of us around the world are fighting against this pandemic. And in time like this, God wants all of us to work together regardless of our language, our ethnicity and our races. God is encouraging all of us to join hands in defeating this corona virus. We should not just think of ourselves and our own country but instead God is telling is to pray for the whole world and to transform the world through our prayers.

Also, the people during that time was thinking of being famous and staying only in one place. Which is not in God’s will and plans for us. God wants us to be scattered all over the world. God also wants us to continue honoring Him.

God, in the first place, created us to be like Him. God want us to act just like Him as well. God is faithful, so we should be faithful too. God is graceful and forgiving like what we should be. God loves all of us and we also should do the same.

As we live in God’s kingdom, God’s Spirit also live within us. Let us live in faith that brings purification in this world. Let us pray for the better world to live in. And make the earth worth living for.
