Manila, Philippines – Nakauwi na sa Pilipinas ang 317 Filipino mula sa Beirut, Lebanon ayon sa Malakanyang.
“The twin missions demonstrate the continuing commitment of the Philippine Government to assist Filipinos who wish to return home as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, as well as the solidarity of the Filipino nation with the Lebanese people,” pahayag ng Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs.
Dagdag pa ng naturang opisina ito ay utos mula sa Pangulo matapos ang United Nations General Assembly at ito na ang ikalimang grupo ng OFW na nakauwi mula Lebanon mula nitong Hunyo.
Sa kasalukuyan mayroon nang 2,596 Filipino ang narepatriate mula Lebanon mula noong Disyembre 2019.
