TV presenter and athlete Gretchen Ho to give free bikes to workers

TV presenter and athlete Gretchen Ho is giving away 50 bikes to Filipino workers in need amid the community quarantine brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The former Ateneo Lady Eagles volleyball star announced on social media on August 13, 2020, that she and her group will lend a helping hand to fifty deserving people who are having difficulties going to work because of the lack of transportation.

“Giving away 50 BIKES to 50 deserving people. Because a BIKE can spell the difference between keeping a livelihood or not,” said the sports racer.

The free bikes initiative is incorporated with the athlete’s project “Woman-in-Action” where she advocates for positive change in her community one step, one move, and one action at a time.

The news anchor assured the public of the quality of the bikes they are giving away saying,

“This took quite some time because we had them shipped from abroad, but I’ve used them and both mountain & folding bikes are of good quality.”

To apply for the free bikes, fill out this form to say why you’re deserving, and you need to show proof when her team contacts you.

Anyone is also encouraged to nominate someone they deemed deserving of the free bikes.

After the verification process, the fifty bikes will be sent out once the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine is lifted in Metro Manila.

Ho is also launching a fund drive to donate more bikes to our “kababayans.”
According to the athlete she has already received 116 pledges and counting.

“DONATE A BIKE, SAVE A JOB. If you want to be part of this project, you may CONTRIBUTE CASH DONATIONS, just send me a message via social media or email at gretchen@womaninaction.ph,” said Ho in her Facebook post.
